GSMA Mobile World Congress 2010: Where the Mobile Industry gathered together to see 'Vision in Action'

 

Once again, Barcelona played host to the GSMA's industry-leading event, Mobile World Congress. This year, attendees were treated to a wealth of learning and networking opportunities; product offerings and announcements; inspiration and innovation, including:

 

Conference

An exciting lineup of speakers from the mobile industries, as well as other industries and sectors touched by the mobile market, including entertainment and education. Keynote speakers included:

App Planet

An entire exhibition hall dedicated to applications and developers, featuring developer conferences hosted by Google, Motorola, RIM, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone and Wireless Industry Partnership. Click here for more highlights from the inaugural App Planet.

 

Exhibition

Approximately 1,300 companies showcased their organisations through exhibition and hospitality space across eight halls at Fira Barcelona. Visiting the exhibition halls provided sneak peeks at new devices, technologies, applications, back-end solutions, accessories and more.

 

The GSMA had several stands and pavilions to highlight our initiatives benefitting the industry, including OneAPI, Embedded Mobile, Mobile Money for the Unbanked, and Mobile Innovation.

 

Highlighting the Best of the Industry

Mobile World Congress hosted the 15 th annual Global Mobile Awards, which recognised outstanding offerings in 19 categories, covering topics from advertising and entertainment to innovation and contributions to economic development. For a full winner list, please click here

 

Outstanding Networking Opportunities

A key component of Mobile World Congress 2010 was networking with fellow attendees and mobile leaders, both before the show, via My MWC and at Congress itself.
