App Planet 2010

As expected, the inaugural version of App Planet was a huge success and the buzz of the show! With a constant stream of developers, content providers, operators and device manufacturers visiting, App Planet truly became The Centre of the Apps Universe.

More than 20,000 people visited the inaugural App Planet, a focused event designed to bring together the many critical elements of the broad mobile application ecosystem together in one location. Google, Motorola, RIM, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone and WIPJam each held application developer conferences (ADC) within App Planet.  Overall, more than 6,200 developers attended Mobile World Congress this year. App Planet included:

• Successful App Developer Conferences by our ADC partners: Google, Motorola, RIM, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone, and Wireless Industry Partnership
• Incredible networking in the popular App Lounge
• A very busy App Exhibition with 140 companies promoting their products and services
• The much-anticipated presentation of the International Mobile Gaming Association Awards

Best of Show

In addition, App Planet (sponsored by Vodafone) was the home of the new “Best of Show” Mobile Application Award, awarded to Cisco’s WebEx Meeting Center for the iPhone. The application allows you to connect to important meetings anytime, anywhere from your iPhone.
