TIPS: Here's how you can help us be "GREEN".
We invite you to join us in our efforts to be environmentally responsible by doing the following:
-
11/07/2011 - Always think in this order: 1.reduce, 2. reuse, 3. recycle.
-
11/14/2011 - Before sending material to the Mobile World Congress, think of ways to reduce/minimize the amount of printed material distributed: think about local suppliers as well. Send e-brochures by e-mail on request rather than providing expensive printed hardcopies.
-
11/21/2011 - Opt for an undated marketing and promotional material in order to be able to reuse them for other events. Think about recycled give-away.
-
11/28/2011 - Separate your waste into recyclables and non-recyclables. We facilitate free waste separation bags Hall 7 or hall 1 at the service desks. Click here to find out more (WASTE SEPARATION FOR EXHIBITORS section).
-
12/05/2011 - Promote car sharing or public transports to reach the venue every morning. For more details about transport click here.
-
12/12/2011 - Keep in mind that there are many ways to compensate your carbon emissions. For more information about your travel compensation click here.
-
01/09/2011 - Use paper packaging rather than plastic, and use recycled paper where possible.
-
01/19/2012 - Send brochures by e-mail (on request) rather than providing expensive printed hardcopies.

GSMA/Fira employs a waste management team in order to reduce wastes and emissions.
-
A waste management team is in place during the build-up and dismantling to control and ensure that what can be is recycled/reused.
-
We provide coloured bags for trash selection to our expositors to educate them and encourage them to have an environmental conscience
-
At the end of build-up and at the end of dismantling before leaving the venue every exhibitor/contractor must have their stand space inspected by a representative of Eclean/Barna Porters who issues a waste removal “Handover Certificate” as proof that named stand space is clean and clear of any waste.
-
All the venue is equipped with bins for attendee to make their own waste separation
-
In all GastroFira’s catering outlet, a strong waste management process is in place to separate wastes ( organic/glass/plastic/paper/oil)
-
Fira Barcelona’s waste management process enabled the transformation of 23.91% of all the congress’ waste into SRF, that can be used to generate fuel used as an alternative of coal in industry and synthetic Diesel .
