Do You Have an NFC Compatible Handset?

To take advantage of the NFC Experience at this year’s Mobile World Congress you will need an NFC compatible handset. Below is the current list of NFC-enabled handsets available in the market today. For more information about these, and to enquire about upgrading to one of these, please contact your local mobile network operator.

With one of these handsets you will have the opportunity to take part in a truly interactive experience using mobile NFC technology, at this year’s MWC. The following gives a brief overview of what you will be able to experience, depending on your handset and SIM capability:

• If you are selected to receive the official NFC-enabled handset*, this will allow you to participate in the full NFC Experience, including payment capabilities.
• If you have an NFC-enabled handset you can take part in all NFC Experience activities apart from payment services. Please visit us onsite at the NFC Centre to find out more about how you can enhance your NFC Experience at Mobile World Congress.
• You are with a mobile network operator who supports live NFC services, but may not have a handset that supports these services. There may be an opportunity to upgrade to an NFC-enabled handset prior to Mobile World Congress which will allow you to take part in the NFC Experience, please contact your mobile network operator for more information on purchasing or upgrading your handset.
• You do not currently have an NFC capable handset or are not with a mobile network operator with live services. You can still visit the NFC Experience NFC Centre at Mobile World Congress to find out more about NFC and see some innovative demonstrations of how it can be used.

*Official NFC-enabled handsets will be available to pre-selected attendees only. More information can be found when you register for the event.
