Media registration is now open.

Registration for the Mobile Innovation Market (1-Day and 2-Day) will be closed to Analysts on Monday, 4 February 2008.

For attendees other than analysts, the Mobile Innovation Market
(1-Day and 2-Day) will remain open for the duration of the event.

Registration for the Mobile Innovation Market Speed-Dating Session will be closed on Monday, 4 February 2008.


Pre-Event Press Registration for the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2008 will close for new registrations on Thursday, 7 February. After this date, you can register onsite at the event. Please go to the press registration area in Hall 1 at the Fira de Barcelona – Montjuic. You will need to bring photo identification and evidence that you are a journalist.

Selection criteria for Media Registration

Registration as a “media representative” is reserved for editorial staff. This includes journalists, reporters, editors and writers with magazines, trade publications and newspapers, both print and online – plus producers, camera crew and presenters of broadcast media (radio, TV, webcast).

Registration Requirements

Print & Newswire Reporters

Reports may be required to provide the following documentation to support their application:

  1. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and publication logo

  2. One original industry-related article from the publication that was written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line)

  3. A copy of the masthead from a current issue of your publication that shows your name listed as part of the publication team

On-line Publications
Journalists with commercial news web sites qualify for media registration. Web sites must be established and updated regularly with original and current wireless industry news. Personal web site writers, fan sites, designers, editors and creators do not qualify.

On-line Reporters
On-line reports may be required to provide the following documentation to support their application:

  1. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and publication logo

  2. A copy of your on-line publication with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity, including a by-lined, industry-related article from your publication that was written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line)

Please note that online media must meet the following criteria:

  • The web site must have a paid reporting staff of two or more

  • The web site must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week

  • The web site content must extend beyond newsletters, links, forums, personal diaries, opinion or personal analysis

Freelance Reporters, Editors and Photographers
These individuals may be required to provide the following documentation to support their application:

  1. A letter from a publisher, editor or producer, on company letterhead, that states you are covering the Congress on assignment for their news organization

  2. A by-lined industry-related article from the publication that you are representing, written by you and published within the last six months. The copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line

Please note: Qualification of all media outlets is determined by the GSMA. Freelance writers from unqualified media outlets will not be admitted.

Broadcast Journalists & Photographers
These individuals may be required to provide the following documentation to support their application:

Each member of a broadcast crew must register separately.

  1. A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet logo

  2. A letter from a producer/editor (on company letterhead) that states you are covering the Congress on assignment.

Each member of a broadcast crew must register separately.

If you do not belong to any of the above categories, then you will need to register as either a Congress Delegate or Visitor to the Exhibition using the main registration website.
