Airport Transportation

There are four travel options from Barcelona airport from Fira Gran Via: Metro, Train, Aerobús and Taxi:

Metro: New for 2016!

We are very excited to announce the arrival of a new Metro line connecting the Barcelona Airport to the city, with a stop directly underneath Fira Gran Via. Trains depart the airport every 7 minutes during peak times, and the journey to Fira Gran Via takes less than 25 minutes from the airport. Read all about it here.

There are Metro stations at both terminals:

  • T1 Terminal: From Baggage Claim, follow the signs to MWC Badge Collection; the T1 station is located adjacent to Badge Collection.
  • T2 Terminal: From Baggage Claim, follow the signs to MWC Badge Collection. Collect your badge, then follow the signs to the RENFE station across the street (via an air bridge) and board the Metro.

While you’re at Badge Collection, don’t forget to pick up your Free Transport Pass, good for event days. Your free transport pass even covers the supplemental costs between the Airport and the city.

The Aerobús departs from both Terminals and arrives at Plaça Espanya.

  • Bus frequency: every 5 to 15 minutes from 06:00 to 01:00
  • Approximate journey time: 20 minutes between the airport and Plaça Espanya
  • Cost: 5,90 € for a single trip. Tickets are available from ticket machines or may be purchased from the driver.
  • Note: If you intend to go directly to Fira Gran Via from the Airport using Aerobús, you must still make your way from Plaça Espanya to Fira Gran Via using the FGV/FM Shuttle or via FGC train. Why not consider the direct Metro L9 instead?

Taxis are readily available outside both airport terminals. Download the Official Taxi App for iOS and Android devices.

The train connects the airport with the city centre, stopping at Barcelona Sants Railway Station. The airport station is situated opposite Terminal T2, connected via an air bridge. Journey time to Fira Gran Via is approximately 19 minutes. View timetables.
