Women4Tech is focused on increasing the inclusion of women in the mobile industry and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG #5 (Gender Equality).

Building on a successful launch at Mobile World Congress 2017 and Mobile World Congress Americas 2017, GSMA brings back the Women4Tech programme to Mobile World Congress 2018. Focused on successfully addressing and reducing the gender gap in the mobile industry, Women4Tech features four days of in-depth analysis of the topics shaping gender diversity in the mobile industry.

What to expect:

Women4Tech Summit: A core element of the Women4Tech programme. Learn best practices for women leadership in the digital age from corporate influencers. Comprised of four key themes, from which leaders in mobile and related industries will engage the audience to inspire action:

  • Women Empowering Technology looks at gender equality and career development.
  • Women Encouraging Technology centres on mentoring and youth education.
  • Women Transforming Technology focuses on women in communication and vertical sectors.
  • Women Innovating in Technology examines women as entrepreneurs and innovators.

Senior-level speakers from around the world will discuss integrating gender equality into the mainstream work environments and share strategic advice on how to empower gender diversity in mobile and related industries.

  • Speed Coaching & Networking: This innovative and dynamic session gives attendees a fresh perspective on networking by coaching attendees on personal challenges and opportunities. Our experts will guide attendees on mapping career goals and building bridges in the professional community. This session is open to all MWC18 registered attendees of any gender.
  • Women4Tech Glomo Awards: The Mobile Industry Leadership Awards will again feature two Women4Tech Glomo awards. The awards for “Women4Tech – Industry Leadership Award (Individuals)” and “Women4Tech – Industry Leadership Award (Organisations)” recognize and celebrate leadership in initiatives to encourage and retain women and girls in the telecommunications industry or the broader mobile ecosystem. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, 22 November and the winners will be announced at the Women4Tech Summit taking place on Thursday, 1 March 2018 at Mobile World Congress.
