The GSMA developed the Women4Tech programme to address gender diversity in the mobile industry. It is designed to increase female leadership in the digital age and supports UN Sustainable Development Goal #5: To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
A key element of the Women4Tech programme is the Women4Tech Summit, which took place on Thursday, 1 March in Hall 4 at Fira Gran Via. The Summit kicked off with a keynote that brought together leaders from across the mobile industry and adjacent industry sectors to highlight best practice in gender diversity and discuss action to engage and empower women in technology.
Following the keynote, the Women4Tech Summit took place in Hall 4, Auditorium A, delving further into gender diversity, with sessions focusing on four key themes:
Additionally, the Women4Tech Summit celebrated the leadership and achievements of women in the mobile industry with the presentation of the second annual Women4Tech GLOMO Awards.
And of course, the Women4Tech Summit provided attendees ample opportunity to extend dialogue, build relationships and advance the diversity agenda during networking breaks.
