ATM (Autoritat del Transport Metropolitá), Barcelona
Carme Fabregas is the CTO at the Metropolitan Transport Authority of the Barcelona Area which involves, among other missions, being the responsible for the ticketing of the actual integrated fare management system and the reference responsible for the technical prescriptions of the T-Mobilitat, the upcoming new smart ticketing system.
Since 1998 she has been working at ATM in different areas of competence and responsibility. With specific relevance there is the leading of the multifleet Automatic Vehicle Location and Management System, which nowadays comprise more than 1000 buses belonging to more than 20 transport companies, all managing their own fleet by a common scheme.
She has also brought the transport companies into a real time information system and settlement organization, which is in progress nowadays.
Now she is mainly focused on the T-Mobilitat project rolling-out, the new mobility paradigm for Barcelona and Catalonia, which is a high performance contactless based system, combined with the deployment of a comprehensive real-time- passenger-information system.
With regard to these objectives, her main job is the implementation of an open and end-to-end interoperable scheme, highly secured in alignment with the EU ITS Directives and compliance standards while promoting
Participant to several international working groups, at present she is member of the Smart Ticketing Alliance and has a seat at BoD of MaaS-Alliance.
In the academic field she is lecturer and member of staff of the posgraduate course “Smart Mobility: Intelligent Transport Systemes at UPC School of Professional & Executive Development in Barcelona.
